HENSLEY, Karen R. age 66 of Fairfield passed away on Monday, May 1, 2017, at Hospice of Hamilton after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Hamilton, Ohio on September 3, 1950, the daughter of Robert L. and Ruth E. (Bossert) Emenaker. On November 26, 1977, at the Bellarmine Chapel on campus of Xavier University she married John M. Hensley. In addition to being a devoted wife and mother, Karen worked as a merchandiser for Gibson Greetings and American Greeting Cards for over 20 years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church, the Knights of Columbus Fr. Roettele Council Ladies Auxiliary, and Beta Sigma Phi. Karen was an avid fan of Xavier Basketball for many years and always loved watching her beloved Muskies play.
Survivors include her husband John; a daughter, Kimberly (Brennan) Graham of Fairfield; a brother, Gary (Imelda) Emenaker; a nephew, James Emenaker; and numerous cousins and friends whom she cherished.
Prayers will be offered at 9:30am Monday in the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am Monday in Sacred Heart Church with Fr. Larry Tharp celebrant. Entombment will be in St. Stephen Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 4-8:00pm Sunday in the funeral home.
