HOWELL, Kenneth N. age 80 of Fairfield died Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at Hospice of Hamilton. He was born in Old Landing, Kentucky on July 14, 1930, the son of Vollie and Ethel (Durbin) Howell. On August 12, 1950, in St. Ann Church he married Juanita J. Baker and she preceded him in death on June 3, 2000. Ken served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was owner and operator of Howell Heating and Air Conditioning from 1972 to 1992 when he retired. Mr. Howell later worked for the City of Fairfield Parks Department at Marsh Lake. He was a member of St. Ann Church, the VFW Post # 1069, and charter member of the Butler Co. Woodchippers. He was affectionately known as Big Daddy to his fishing buddies and friends at the Fairfield Fire Department.

Survivors include his three children, Norbert (Sherrie) Howell of Harrisburg, PA, James (Shirley) Howell of Fairfield, and Jane Howell of Hamilton; four grandchildren, Rebecca Howell, Michael Howell, Theresa (Warren) Bergquist, and Alan Woloszyn; a brother, Leslie Howell. Brother in law and sister in law Moody (Janet) Baker and brothers in law Carl Morris and Jack Pells. Also, survived by many nieces and nephews.

Besides his wife, Juanita, he was also preceded in death by five sisters, Elsie Evans, Lola Faye Morris, Shirley Phillips, Christine Pells, and Laverne Feeney; three brothers, Mitchell, Ora Lee, and Luther Howell.

Prayers will be offered at 9:30 am Tuesday in the Zettler Funeral Home 2646 Pleasant Ave. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am Tuesday in St. Ann Church. Visitation will be from 5-8p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Hamilton.
