McKinney, Leland G. age 77 of Hamilton died on Sunday, September 13, 2009 at Tri County Extended Care Center. He was born on January 23, 1932, the son of William and Ruth (McCune) McKinney and served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. On October 3, 1964, in Cincinnati, Ohio, he married Jacqueline Slaughter. He worked as a mail sorter at Union Terminal for twenty years, and later was owner and operator of Mack's cleaning service for ten years. Mr. McKinney was a member of the First St. John United Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Jackie; three children, Michelle Robinson of Covington, KY, Jon Paul McKinney of New Port, KY, Wesley (Jane) Bratton of Crescent Springs, KY; six grandchildren, Jesse and Isaac Heine, Matt Robinson, Laura, Bridget, and Ben Bratton.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Bratton.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am Wednesday in the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave., with Rev. Sam Wyatt officiating, followed by burial in Highland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10-11:00 am Wednesday in the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to First St. John United Church of Christ general fund.
