McCoy, Leroy, age 87 of Hamilton, died Thursday, July 12, 2007 at Ft. Hamilton Hospital. He was born in Oxford, OH on September 16, 1919, the son of Roscoe and Elsie Mae (Herfel) McCoy. On March 30, 1946, in Hamilton, he married Elizabeth "Betty" Schuh and she preceded him in death on March 30, 2006. Mr. McCoy served in the US Army during WWII. He was an employee of Champion Paper Co., working there over forty years, retiring in 1981. A life member of the Monkey Mutual Aid Society, the V.F.W. # 1069, the Eagles # 407, and the AMVETS # 1983, he also was a member of the Moose # 36.
Survivors include six children, Melvin (Carol) McCoy of Leesburg, FL, Linda (George) Brown, Diane (Kenny) Heinrich, Brenda Asher, Bryant (Debbie) McCoy, and Nancy (Tommy) Freeman, all of Hamilton; seventeen grandchildren, Tiffany (Ryan) Krall, Scott, and Matt McCoy, Lisa (Charlie) Cruea, Sheila(Andy) Brown, Johanna and Kelly Brown, Ashley Myers, Josh (Tara) Asher and Hollie Asher, Mia, Candace, Jeremy, and Valerie McCoy, Cheyanna, Jordan, and Tyler Sims; five great grandchildren, Carley Cruea, Katie Brown, Nathan Asher, Airam McCoy and Tayley Asher; a sister, Shirley McCoy, of Liberty, Indiana; a dear prior daughter-in-law, April McCoy.
Prayers will be offered at 9:30am Monday in the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave., followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am Monday in St. Ann Church.
