REED III, Lewis E. age 58 of Hamilton died Tuesday, June 29, 2010, at his home. He was born on August 10, 1951, the son of Lewis E. and Mary (South) Reed Jr. Lewis was a graduate of Fairfield High School, and later received a Bachelor's of Science with a 4.0 GPA from Miami University. He married Catherine McKinney in Hamilton, Ohio. He worked as an electrical engineer for Square D Group Schneider in Oxford, Ohio for thirty-nine years and nine months.

Survivors include his wife, Catherine; four daughters, Lora (Chief Petty Officer Marvin Leigh) Mills of Chesapeake, VA, Senior Master Sergeant Shannon (Master Sergeant Sean) Rix of Grand Forks, North Dakota, Vanessa (Doug) Brock, and Kim Reed; five grandchildren, Jacob, Jarod, Jaxson Mills, Lauren and Carter Rix; step-mother, Sue Spivey; sisters, Brenda (Mark) Hatmaker of Pensacola, FL, Linda (Elbert) Lunsford of Hamilton, Diana (Rick) Newton of Pensacola, FL, Sandy (Denny) Newcomb of Amelia, OH, Hilda Spivey of Pensacola, FL, Donna Nester; one brother, George Spivey of Pensacola, FL; two sister-in-laws, Jessica (Gene) French of Connersville, IN, and Michelle McKinney of Brookville, IN; three brother-in-laws Marty Riley of Hamilton, OH, Mark and Robbie McKinney both of Seattle, WA; dear friend, Craig Frazier.

Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by a step-daughter, Donita Dale Rader; brother, David Reed; father and mother-in-law, Robert McKinney and Naomi Nester-Makina; sister-in-law, Christine McKinney.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday in the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave., followed by burial in Laurel North Cemetery located in Laurel, Indiana. Visitation will be from 5-8:00 pm Friday in the funeral home. Online register book available at www.zettlerfuneralhome.com
