DEATON, Lonie age 76 of Hamilton, died Thursday, December 24, 2009 in Mercy Hospital of Fairfield. She was born in Hyden, Kentucky on May 21, 1933 the daughter of Brownlow and Sallie (Turner) Barger. Lonie had worked in Patient Accounts for Fort Hamilton Hospital, retiring in 1998.

Survivors include two daughters, Connie (Darryl) Stevens, of Straughn, Indiana, Mona (Edward) Bowling, of Seven Mile, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Robert (Gretchen) Stevens II, Wayne (Stephanie) Stevens II, Melissa (Joe) Kolling, Amy Bowling, Matthew (Joli) Stevens, Haley (Adam) Bowman, and Laymon Bowling; eleven great grandchildren; one great great grandchild.

Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by her loving companion of thirty-eight years, William J. Shearer; and a brother Howard Barger.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm Monday in the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave. with Layton Turner officiating, followed by entombment in Rose Hill Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 1:30pm-3:00pm Monday in the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be made to the American Lung Assoc. of SW Ohio, 4050 Executive Park Dr., Cincinnati, OH 45241.
