Obituary

HOSKINS, Lucy E, age 102, died Monday, October 24, 2005 in Woodland Country Manor Nursing Home. _She was born in Garrard County, Kentucky on February 12, 1903, the daughter of James William and Ara Elizabeth (Edwards) Coldiron. She was married to Elmer Hoskins for almost 50 years, and he preceded her in death in 1967. She is survived by her only granddaughter and her husband; Carol Ann and Richard F. Dolan. She also was preceded in death by her parents James and Ara Coldiron, two brothers Calvin and Cecil Coldiron; two
sisters Allie Corso and Lauretta Lancaster. Though she was not aware of it, she lost her only daughter, Carolyn Faye (Hoskins) Rinck, in 2000. Lucy and her daughter lived together for 31 years, taking care of each other as the need arose. After a short illness in 1998, she lived out the rest of her life at Woodland Country Manor Nursing Home. She was a fantastic cook and pie maker, especially known for her bread and butter pickles. She spent many hours watching the TV. What thrilled her the most, was ¬watching the Cincinnati Reds on TV, but listening to Joe Nuxhall and Marty on the radio. She was a member of the Disciples Christian Church for many years. As a family, we would like to express our gratitude to the Woodland Country Manor Nursing Home for the many years of special care given to our loved one.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Thursday in the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave, with Rev. Jake Flannery officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00AM Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Rosehill Burial Park.
