Obituary

REED, Marion E. age 98 of Hamilton died peacefully in her sleep Thursday, April 17, 2014, at her home.  She was born in Hamilton, Ohio the daughter of Andrew W. and Mayme (Treinen) Bruck and was graduate of the old Hamilton High School.  In 1935, in Aurora, Indiana she married Louis C. Reed and he preceded her in death on November 25, 1976. Marion was a life long member of St. John's United Church of Christ.  She enjoyed sewing and gardening.  Mrs. Reed had a passion for children, serving as a surrogate grandmother for many children. Marion was fortunate to be surrounded by compassionate and caring neighbors.

Survivors include a daughter, Marylou (William) Warman of Fairfield; two grandchildren, Wendi (Brian) Corrigan and Jodi (Tom) Hefler; four great-grandchildren, Taylor and Josh Corrigan, Jayme and Michael Hefler; son-in-law, Don Stitsinger; daughter-in-law, Barbara Reed; devoted sister-in-law, Lucile Reed; faithful helper, Whitney Smith; numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, Louis, she was also preceded in death by a son, Ron Reed; a daughter, Pat Stitsinger; three sisters, Ruth Platt, Thelma Getz, and Dorothy Burnett; a brother, Andrew F. Bruck.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Tuesday in the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave. with Pastor Mark Young officiating, followed by burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10-11:00AM Tuesday in the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to any charity of choice that would benefit children.  Online register book available at www.zettlerfuneralhome.com
