Obituary

SANDERS, Mark L. "Mike" age 86 of Hamilton, OH and Hilton Head Island, SC, died at home February 28, 2013. He was born in Hamilton, Ohio on April 25, 1926 the son of Herman L. and Mary Margaret (Beer) Sanders. Mr. Sanders was a 1944 graduate of Hamilton High School and served in the US Navy as Seaman First Class during WWII. On September 6, 1954, in St. Joseph's Church he married Nancy Prall and she preceded him in death on September 28, 1992. Mike later married Mary Ann Willis on December 2, 1994.

Mike and his brother Bud, owned and operated the family business, Butler County Lumber Company for 48 years.

He served as Chairman and Director of West Side Federal Savings & Loan Association, Director of Schroeder Manor, lifetime parishioner of St. Peters in Chains Catholic Church, member of the Elks Lodge BPOE 93, Hamilton Optimist Club, Izaak Walton League, Knights of Columbus, Browns Run Country Club, Oyster Reef Golf Club.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Sanders; a daughter, Jane Sanders (Robert) Minnicks of Hilton Head Island, SC, children, Amara Bennett, Amber (Curt) Minchey, Autumn Minnicks, Andrew (Rachel) Minnicks, Alex (Jen) Minnicks all of Atlanta, GA; two sons, Mark L. (Kathy) Sanders Jr. and Thomas A. (Nancy) Sanders both of Hamilton, Ohio; a granddaughter, Tracy A. (Trevor) Sanders Combs; three grandsons, Mark L. (Courtney) Sanders III, Thomas A. "T.J." Sanders Jr., and Tyler M. Sanders; Children of Mary Ann Sanders, Mark A. (Kathy) Willis, and Susan Willis (Dan) Flahive; Mary Ann Sanders grandchildren, Nate and Natalie Flahive, Cameron and Sarah Willis; two sisters, Mary Margaret Antes and Charlotte Reimer.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Herman E. and Richard Sanders; three sisters, Clara Blanchard, Elaine Brashear, and Thelma Atkinson.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 9:00-10:00am Monday, March 4th at St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church, 382 Liberty Ave. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery. Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave. is serving the family.
