TIPTON, Martha M. age 56 of Fairfield died Wednesday, September 23, 2009, at Hospice of Hamilton, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Dayton, Ohio on December 30, 1952, the daughter of Miles F. and Lauretta H. (Boniec) Mirka, and she was a 1971 graduate of Fairfield High School. On June 20, 1993 in Fairfield, Ohio she married Gene A. Tipton. Martha was employed as the Senior Vice President and General Manager of Universal Transportation Systems of Fairfield. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Fairfield Rotary, Fairfield Kiwanis, the Butler County Republican Central Committee, and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.

Survivors include her husband, Gene; a daughter, Cassie (Doug) McNally of Fairfield; four step-children, Diane Bennett of Jacksonville, FL; Nancy (Brad) Clark; Dan (Erin) Tipton; Emily (Scott) Bartel, all of Fairfield; seven grandchildren, Logan and Morgan McNally, Ashley and Danielle Bennett, Rebecca and Ben Clark, and Adam Tipton; a brother, Jobe (Dee) Mirka of Georgia; many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father in 1998 and her mother in 2003.

Visitation will be from 2-5:00 pm Sunday at Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave. Hamilton. Prayers will be offered at 9:30 am Monday at the Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am at Sacred Heart Church of Fairfield with Father Larry Tharp celebrant. Following the mass burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of Hamilton.
