HELMERS, Mary M. age 91 of Hamilton, died Wednesday October 8, 2014 in the Westover Retirement Center. She was born in Glendale, Ohio, on June 3, 1923, the daughter of Richard and Theresa (Pleumer) Brotherton and was a 1941 graduate of Our Lady of the Angels High School. On November 9, 1946, in St. James Church, Wyoming, Ohio, she married Jerome C. Helmers Sr. and he preceded her in death on April 18, 2007. Mrs. Helmers was a member of St. Peter in Chains Church, the Altar Rosary Society, and the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary.

Survivors include seven children, Mary Ann (Gary) Gault, Dr. Jerome C. (Lizbeth Jo) Helmers Jr., Kathy (Tom) Mergy, Karen (Mark) Kiep, Nancy (Greg) Fetters, Janet (Steve) Hazlebeck, and Pam (Mark) Bange; twenty-two grandchildren, Christi Green, Andrea Hobson, Ben Helmers, Maggie Kastl, Jeff, Scott, David, and Greg Mergy, Brian and Brad Kiep, Sarah Cavanaugh, Kevin, Matthew, Lisa, and Jack Fetters, Katie Emery, Michael, Ben, and Rachel Hazlebeck, John, Danny, and Jill Bange; fourteen great grandchildren; a sister, Viola Barrett.
Besides her husband, Jerome, she was also preceded in death by three brothers, and four sisters.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00AM Saturday in St. Peter in Chains Church, 451 Ridgelawn Ave, Hamilton, OH 45013. Visitation will be from 9:30-11:00AM Saturday at the church. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cincinnati Right to Life 1802 W Galbraith Rd. Cincinnati, Ohio 45239 or Badin Scholarship fund.
