Obituary

MACKINNON, Mary Lou age 81 of Hamilton died Monday, October 15, 2018, at her home with her daughter at her side due to complications of emphysema and copd. She was born in Hamilton, Ohio on February 3, 1937, and lived on a farm north of Monroe for 16 years. She attended Lemon-Monroe Schools until moving to Hamilton where she graduated from Hamilton High School in 1955. She worked as a secretary for 25 years at Ransohoff and National Can. She received a degree in Nursing at Miami University and worked as a Registered Nurse for 20 years retiring from Community Multicare. Her passion was traveling, first with her parents on road trips to Florida and throughout the Western states seeing Mount Rushmore, Grand Canyon, and spending the night in Yellowstone National Forest. She traveled with her husband throughout the New England States, and then a cruise to the Bahamas. Her most memorable trip was to the Canary Islands with a side trip to the city of Marrakesh, Morocco in North Africa.

She is survived by her devoted daughter, Diana and her life partner Timothy Crank; her grandchildren, A.J. and Megan; great grandson, Robert Wayne Richardson; her faithful four footed pals, Buddy and Tribbles.

She was preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Gladys Baird; her daughter, Terri Lynn Mackinnon; husband, Richard Lee Mackinnon; and her only sibling, Cecilia Rae Schutte.

We wish to express our gratitude to Hospice of Southwest Ohio and the nurses on Telemetry at Mercy Hospital Fairfield.

Exactly to her wishes no visitation or funeral services will be held. Mom's final resting place will be with dad at Greenwood Mausoleum.

Mom always had a fondness for animals. She had a habit of taking strays in especially during the cold weather. Therefore in lieu of flowers, mom's wishes were to make donations to P.A.W.S Adoption Center, 6302 Crossings Blvd. Monroe, Ohio 45050 or Animal Friends Humane Society. A celebration of life will be held at the family's convenience. Zettler Funeral Home is serving the family. Online register book available at www.zettlerfuneralhome.com
