MARGERUM, Mary M. age 79 of Fairfield Township, died Saturday May 31, 2014 at Bethesda North Hospital. She was born in Middletown, Ohio on October 1, 1934 the daughter of Chester and Mary Lucille (Fay) Smith and was a 1975 graduate of Miami University. On August 6, 1955 at Holy Trinity Church Middletown, Ohio, she married Howard D. Margerum. Mrs. Margerum was a clinical therapist/RN and was a well known public speaker on the topic of Drug and Alcohol abuse. A member of St. Ann church and the Altar Rosary Society, she also had been a member of the St. Ann Church Bereavement Ministry.

Survivors include her husband, Howard; six children, Kathie (Dave) Portman, Jerome H. (Donna) Margerum, Doug (Linda) Margerum, Lori (Dominic) Spinelli, Don (Monica) Margerum, and Michelle (Steve) Tebeau; thirteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a brother, Donald (Paula) Smith.

Prayers will be offered at 9:30am Wednesday in the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am Wednesday in St. Ann church. Visitation will be from 5-8:00pm Tuesday in the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to St. Ann School Roots & Wings tuition assistance fund.
