POWELL, McClellan, "Mack", age 86, of Hamilton, died Monday, August 6, 2007 at Hospice of Hamilton in Sunrise Assisted Living Center. He was born in Locust Branch, Kentucky on November 4, 1920 the son of Noah and Eula (Patrick) Powell. On October 11, 1941, he married Mary Lou Smith and she preceded him in death on May 11, 1998. Mr. Powell was in the CCC and the WPA during the depression and later served in the US Army during WWII. He had worked as a patrolman for Champion Paper Co., retiring in 1985. He attended the East Hamilton Baptist Church.

Survivors include six children, Fran (Robert) Adams, of Florence, KY, James E. Powell, of Hamilton, Mimi (Jeffrey) Sullivan, of Oxford, OH, Suzanne (Hector) Vargas, of Hamilton, Tammi (John) Dearth, of Springboro, OH, and Mack (Angela) Powell, of Hamilton; eleven grandchildren; five great grandchildren.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Trumble.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Hillandale Healthcare and Hospice of Hamilton for the excellent care they provided.

Funeral services will be held at 10am Thursday in the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave., with Pastor Dale Hinderliter officiating, followed by burial in Greenwood Cemetery.
