BAUMANN, Melvin L. Age 82 of Hamilton, died Friday, June 13, 2008, in the Butler County Care Facility. He was born October 18, 1925 in New Port, KY, the son of William C. and Edna (Yager) Baumann. A 1943 graduate of Hamilton Catholic High school, he also served in the US Army During WWII. On June 28, 1952, in Hamilton, OH, he was married to Darlene Poppel, and she preceded him in death on May 9, 1990. Mr. Baumann had worked as a self employed Tile Contractor for forty years, retiring in 1990. He had been an avid hunter and fisherman and was a member of the Izaac Walton League of America.

Survivors include two sons, Larry (Debbie) Baumann of Fairfield Township, Garry (Debbie) Baumann of Hamilton; one daughter, Linda Zimmermann of Fairfield; four grandchildren, Bryon (Emily) Baumann, Brett , Corey and Nicole Baumann.

Besides his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by one sister, Betty Newman; one half sister Helen Ann Hudson; three half brothers Leo Baumann, Gordon and Willie Schneider.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00am Tuesday in the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave., with Fr. Stephen Mondiek officiating, followed by burial in Greenwood Cemetery.
