PFIRRMAN, Melvin T. Age 86 of Fairfield, Ohio Died on December 13, 2017. He was born on December 13, 1931 at Mercy Hospital Hamilton, Ohio, the son of Elmer H and Marie (Hienering) Pfirrman. He is survived by his wife Mary I. (Applegate) Pfirrman and they have been happily married for over 63 years.

He graduated from St. Ann School, Hamilton High school, the University Of Cincinnati, and the University Of Wisconsin Graduate School Of Banking.

Mel was employed by the Citizens Bank of Hamilton in 1949 and advanced to Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer. Mel joined the Second National Bank of Hamilton (now US Bank) in 1976 and served as Vice-President. He retired in 1994.

Mr. Pfirrman has served as Chairman of the Board of Mercy Hospital of Hamilton/Fairfield, Senior Citizens of Hamilton and St. Ann Church Parish Council. He also served as President of The Ramose and Catham Clubs of Badin High School, He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Rotary Club of Fairfield, St. Ann's Church and the Mercy Hospital Fairfield Auxiliary. He was a Veteran of the Korean War serving in the United States Air Force for four years.

Mel is survived by his wife, Mary, and children Douglas(Susan) Pfirrman, Vicki(Joseph) Niehaus, and John(Cynthia) Pfirrman; six grandchildren Aubrey Ballinger, Angela(Ben) Vocke, Douglas(Amanda), David(Jennifer), Kyle(Cassondra), Kristin Pfirrman, and seven Great-Grandchildren, Drew, Ryan and Colin Vocke, Timothy, Tommy, Quinn and Parker Pfirrman and his brother Richard(Alice) Pfirrman.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Betty (Dan) Boyd.

Prayers will be offered at 9:30am Monday in the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am Monday at St. Ann Church with Fr. Larry Tharp, celebrant. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-5:00PM Sunday in the funeral home.
