Michael Jan Lakes age 63 of Fairfield, Ohio passed away Friday February 2, 2024 at her home. She was born in Hamilton, Ohio on January 28, 1961 the daughter of Richard J. and Carolyn (Cloud) Huentelman. On September 18, 1982, she married Timothy R. Lakes.
Michael was a graduate of Fairfield High School, class of 1979. Her occupations included a pharmacy technician for Darlington Pharmacy, Branch Manager for Dollar Federal, and a substitute office clerk for Fairfield City Schools. Michael and her family attended St. Ann's Church in Hamilton Ohio. She loved camping, boating, collecting antiques, and vacationing with her family. She had a special place in her heart for Charleston, South Carolina where her grandkids live. Being a Nana to her grandsons Jordan and Bennett was her greatest motivation and kept her fighting every day. Michael loved her dogs Samantha and Drake that were always by her side.
Survivors include her husband of forty-one years, Tim; her two amazing sons, Robert Christopher (Kimberly) Lakes, Ryan Joseph (Max) Lakes, who was the joy of her life; two beautiful grandsons, Jordan Christopher Lakes and Bennett Michael Lakes; two sisters, Pamela (Craig) Thompson and Karen Hudson; six nieces and nephews, Kerri (Joe) Miller, Beth (Dan) Blubaugh, Matt (Lindsey) Hudson, Todd (Jenna) Hudson, Kate Thompson, and Becca (Joey) Stevenson; several wonderful great nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
Besides her parents she was also preceded in death by her in-laws, Robert and Bettie Lakes; a wonderful brother-in-law, Terry Hudson; a caring nephew, Brandon Hudson.
Michael had a special love and connection for those who cared for her. The family would like to thank the team which kept her going every day including her primary care physician Dr. Julie Broering. Her Ohio State transplant team, Dr. Rosenheck, and Dr. Henn. Her at home Heartland Hospice team, Lisa, and Raq'uel. The Labcorp team, Vivian, and Andrea. Along with many others.
Funeral services will be held at 12noon Thursday February 8, 2024 in the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave. with Father Larry Tharp officiating. Visitation will be from 10:30am-12noon Thursday in the funeral home. Entombment will be in Rose Hill Mausoleum.
