DAEGER, Paul A., age 84 of Fairfield, died Saturday January 25, 2014 in his home. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on June 4, 1929 the son of Herman and Loretta (Schneider) Daeger and was a 1947 graduate of Xavier High School.
He Graduated from Cincinnati Academy of Commercial Art and served in the Naval Reserve in the 1950's. Paul had various careers in art and music. These included positions as a Commercial Artist, Cartoonist, graphic arts and layout artist, photoengraver artist and photographer, and free lance oil and water color artist. His music talents were apparent in his positions as organist as St. Boniface & St. Ann's (Groesbeck), and as a Jazz musician with the Paul Daeger Trio. On May 3, 1952 he married Rosemary E. Temming, a marriage of 61 years. Paul was a member of Sacred Heart Church.
Survivors include his wife, Rosemary; four children and their spouses, Chris and Becky Daeger, Jeni and Jim Schoenfeld, Alison and Don Lorenz, and Ann and Jerry Wolf; twelve grandchildren, Josh Lorenz, Zak Daeger, Amy (Joseph) Shinkle, Justin Lorenz, Ryan Daeger, Carolyn Schoenfeld, Stephanie Wolf, Melissa Lorenz, Ellen Schoenfeld, Emily Wolf, Elizabeth Wolf, Isaiah Wolf; three great grandchildren, Coltin Wolf, Calvin Lorenz, and Jordan Daeger are the 3 great grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by his younger sister, Mary Jo Daeger.
He will be remembered for his faith in God, loving his family, his love of music and art, his talent and expertise in such, and of course his sense of humor. The family was blessed with his life and we pray that God will bless you as well.
Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am Saturday in Sacred Heart Church, 400 Nilles Rd. Fairfield, Ohio. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00am Saturday at church. Private entombment will be in St. Mary Cemetery Mausoleum, St. Bernard, Ohio. In lieu of any flowers, memorials may be directed to The Sisters of Mercy Mission Advancement, 101 Mercy Dr. Belmont, North Carolina 28012-2898, or the Hospice of Cincinnati.
