ROMMEL, Phyllis J. age 79 of Hamilton died Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at her residence. She was born on June 11, 1930, the daughter of Clinton and Verla (Clark) Lunsford. On April 15, 1950, she married James L. Rommel, and he preceded her in death on May 26, 1980. Mrs. Rommel worked as a seamstress for Gentry Men's Clothing for nineteen and a half years retiring in 1994.

Survivors include four sons, James C. (Janice), Daniel (Jennifer), Kevin (Tonja), and Michael Rommel; a daughter, Teresa (Douglas) Crawford: a daughter-in-law, Brenda Rommel; sixteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Inez (Carl) Burman, and Carolyn (James) Davis.

Besides her husband James and her son, William Wayne Rommel; she was also preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Russell, Donald, Eugene, and Everett Lunsford; a sister, Christine Mullins.

Prayers will be offered at 9:30am Saturday in the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave., followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10am Saturday in St. Joseph Church with Fr. Stephen Mondiek celebrant. Visitation will be from 6-8:00pm Friday in the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery.
