BELL, (Bellissimo), Ralph F., age 85 of Fairfield, died Wednesday, November 7, 2007 in Hospice of Cincinnati in Mercy of Western Hills. He was born in Hamilton, Ohio on January 24, 1922 the son of Tony and Anna (Carito) Bellissimo, attended St. Veronica School and graduated from Hamilton Catholic High School in 1940. He served in the US Army Air Corp, during WWII, in England and the USA, and attained the rank of sergeant. He received the Good Conduct Medal, the WWII Victory Medal, as well as many other medals. On August 5, 1946 in St Mary Church, Hamilton, he married Mary A. Procaccino, a marriage of 61 years. Mr. Bell had worked in the poultry and egg business known as Tony Bell Poultry from 1946-1958. In 1958 he began employment with the US Postal Service, retiring in 1982, after 24 years service. A member of Sacred Heart Church, he also was a life member of the Monkey Mutual Aid Society, the VFW #1069, a fifty year and lifetime trustee of the Italian-American Society, and a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. He enjoyed bowling and golfing having twice made a hole in one, and was an avid Cincinnati Reds and Bengal's football fan. A devoted family man, he was especially proud of his two great granddaughters.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; four sons, Anthony Bellissimo, of Fairfield, Sam (Linda) Bellissimo, of Fairfield TWP, Ralph P (Nancy) Bell, of Bluffton, South Carolina, and Jim Bellissimo of Fairfield; seven grandchildren, Angela (Matt) Fishwick, Gina M. Bell, Monica (Steve) Koretchko, Stephanie (Matt) Gricheimer, Christina Bellissimo, Brad J. Bellissimo, and Carina Bellissimo; two great grandchildren, Ashley and Alyssa Fishwick.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Rita Bates, Domenica "Donna" Bell, and Mary Post.
Prayers will be offered at 10:30AM Saturday in the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave., followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am Saturday in Sacred Heart Church. Visitation will be from 5-7:00pm Friday in the funeral home. Entombment will be in St. Stephen Mausoleum.
