EVANS, Richard, age 69 of Fairfield, died Sunday, April 20, 2008 at Hospice of Hamilton. He was born in Hamilton on March 10, 1939 the son of Huey and Eugenia (Lee) DePew. On July 19, 1973, in St. Ann Church, he married Doris Hynes. Mr. Evans had worked as a receiving clerk at the Fair Ave. IGA, for seventeen years, retiring in 1997.

Survivors include his wife Doris; his mother, Eugenia Wells, of Williamsdale; four children, Cecilia Sams (Tony Cecere), of Hamilton, David (Kelly) Evans, of Alexandria, KY, Mark (Anne) Evans, of Norway, and Barbara (Garrett) Forman, of Hamilton; ten grandchildren; one great grandchild; a brother, Robert DePew; a special cousin, Gordon (Lou) Adams.

He was preceded by a sister, Velta Raines.

Funeral services will be held at 12noon Thursday in the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave., with Father Larry Tharp officiating, followed by burial in St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00am-12noon Thursday at the funeral home. Online register book at www.zettlerfuneralhome.com
