Obituary

OTT, Richard J. age 89, formerly of Hamilton, Ohio died Thursday, October 4, 2012, at the Sunrise of Gahanna Care Center. He was born in Hamilton, Ohio on July 14, 1923, the son of William M. and Eleanor (Requarth) Ott, and was a 1941 graduate of Hamilton High School. Mr. Ott was a 1947 graduate of Capital University in Columbus, Ohio and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during WWII. Richard was an FBI agent who worked out of Boston, New York City, Newark, and Chicago offices retiring in 1978. He was a long time member of Zion Lutheran Church.

Survivors include a sister, Eleanor Updike; ten nieces and nephews, Robin (Fred) Updike; Mike (Susan) Updike; Barbara (Ken) Chavious; Judy Ott; Will (Cindy) Ott; John (Debbie) Ott; Alan (Linda) Mittermaier; John (Connie) Mittermaier; Paul (Beth) Mittermaier; Mary Ann (Mike) Debo; thirteen great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, William R. Ott; a sister, Joan Mittermaier.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, October 13th at Zion Lutheran Church with Pastor David Miller and Rev. John Mittermaier officiating followed by burial in Rose Hill Burial Park. Friends may call on the family from 10-11:00 am Saturday at the church. Zettler Funeral Home is serving the family. Memorial donations may be made to Zion Lutheran Church.
