Obituary

SIMPKIN, Richard R. age 88 of Hamilton died Thursday, September 5, 2013, at Mercy Hospital in Fairfield. He was born in Troy, New York on April 20, 1925, the son of George and Bertha (Marsolais) Simpkin and served in the United States Marine Corps during WWII. His wife Elizabeth (Cibulas) Simpkin preceded him in death on October 12, 2009. He was an employee of General Electric Evendale Plant for 37 years retiring in 1985. He was a member of St. Ann Church and the Church's choir. Dick was a founding member of St. Ann Boy Scouts Troop, and the Lindenwald Little League.

Survivors include three children, Wallace and Wayne Simpkin, and Sharon (Ken) Bryan; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

Prayers will be offered at 10:30am Friday in the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am Friday in St. Ann Church with Rev. Larry Tharp celebrant. Entombment will be in Rose Hill Burial Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 9-10:30 am Friday in the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the St. Ann church Choir.
