WEIK, Richard J. age 82 of Hamilton died Wednesday, December 29, 2010, at Hospice of Hamilton. He was born in Hamilton, Ohio on October 13, 1928, the son of John and Hilda (Lentz) Weik, and was a graduate of Hamilton Catholic High School, and Xavier University earning a Bachelor's and Master's Degree. Mr. Weik served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War War. On July 22, 1972 at St. Catharine Church, in Cincinnati, he married Linda Gilbert. Richard was a member of St. Gertrude the Great Church Roman Catholic Church. He While attending Xavier University he worked at the Weik service station, a family business, and then was employed bye the State of Ohio as an investigator for Bureau of Worker's Compensation until retirement. Mr. Weik also worked as a volunteer for many years at the W.G.U.C. public radio station.
Survivors include his wife, Linda; nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; a sister, Marilyn (Edward) Harpring; cousins; dear friends, Margaret and Earl Conrad and Veronica Gilbert.
Rosary was prayed at 11:00 am Tuesday in St. Gertrude the Great Church, 4900 Rialto Rd. West Chester, Ohio, followed by a Requiem Mass at 11:20 am Tuesday in the church with Bishop Dolan celebrant. Burial was in St. Stephen Cemetery. Visitation was from 10:00-11:00 am Tuesday in the church. Memorials are suggested to W.G.U.C. Radio 1223 Central Parkway, Cincinnati, Ohio 45214.
