KORNAU, Rita C. age 92 of Hamilton passed away on Monday, February 26, 2018, at Berkeley Square Retirement Community. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on November 15, 1925, the daughter of Harry and Cecilia (Holtman) Meyer. On June 25, 1949, she married Robert J. Korau and he preceded her in death on April 24, 2010. Mrs. Kornau was a member of St. Peter Church.

Survivors include six children, Eric (Lisa) Kornau, Jonathan (Anne) Kornau, Jeanne (Barry) Lake, Catherine Rodeffer, Matthew (Marcia) Kornau, Joseph (Tracey) Kornau; fifteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren.

Rita loved her family and dedicated her life to them by making a home for her husband and children. She always wanted the best for them, and introduced them to the author of her salvation Jesus Christ. Church, family, and celebrations were dear to her as well as news from family and friends. Some special memories stand out with grandchildren with special trips, showing them how to do the basics-like making their bed properly, and the one time she dressed as a ballerina for a Christmas Party! She had a sense of humor and never forgot to acknowledge a birthday or special day. She was loved dearly and will be missed by many.

Prayers will be offered at 10:00AM Saturday, March 3rd, 2018, in the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30AM Saturday in St. Ann Church with Fr. Larry Tharp celebrant. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9-10:00am Saturday in the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to Badin High School.
