BAKER, Robert P. "Bob" age 86 of Hamilton, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his children on Monday, February 28th, 2022. Bob was born in Lindenwald, OH, on September 11, 1935, the son of John W. "Bill" and Lillian M. (Knipper) Baker and attended St. Ann Elementary school and was a member of the 1953 Hamilton Catholic High School graduating class. On August 4, 1956, in St. Ann Church, he married the love of his life Evelyn M. Riedel. Bob was a gentle giant of a man, and a caring, devoted husband and father. He was also a valued employee of Champion International Papers for 44 years, retiring in 1997. As an active member of St. Peter in Chains Church where he enjoyed attending weekly services and meeting friends afterward for coffee at McDonald's. In his spare time, he enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and collecting keepsakes which he loved sharing with his children and grandchildren. He was also an avid hat collecting fan of Ohio State Football, the Cincinnati Reds, the Super Bowl Bengals (WHO DEY!) and Golden State Warriors Basketball.
Mr. Baker is survived by his four children; Keith (Teri) Baker, of Sarasota, FL, Marcia Brandenburg, of Hamilton, Ronald Baker, of Cookeville, TN, and Carol (Jody) Crawford, of Fairfield TWP; eight grandchildren Michael, Robert, Diane, Athena, Hannah, Leopold, Clemens, and Amelie, great-grandson Ryan, two sisters, Betty Gill of Hamilton, and Mary (Bob) Brown of Daytona Beach, FL, and his faithful Chihuahua Chico.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Ruthie Mae, loving wife Evelyn, brother Bill, Nephew Scott Brown, and granddaughter Lauren Baker.
Prayers will be offered at 9:00am Friday March 4, 2022 in the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave., followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am Friday in St. Peter Church. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00pm Thursday in the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery.
