HEROLD, Robert C. age 81 of Fairfield passed peacefully on Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at Heartland of Woodridge Nursing Home in Fairfield. Robert was born in Hamilton, Ohio on May 30, 1930, the son of Carl and Irma (Getz) Herold and was a graduate of Hamilton High School. In 1950, in Hamilton, he married Emma Lee McDaniel and she preceded him in death in 1981. Bob spent many years working for Sealtest, General Electric, and later worked for the City of Fairfield as a water plant operator. An avid bowler receiving many awards and honors, he also spent many years coaching his sons in the Fairfield Little League and Babe Ruth programs. He enjoyed camping with family and friends and fishing in Cowan Lake.

Survivors include his children, Michael (Kathy) Herold, Cathy (Hyman) Brown, and Joseph Herold; grandchildren, Jason (Stephanie) Brown, Casey (Jeff) Vaughn, Jeff (Natalie) Herold, Chad Herold and Chris Herold; eight great-grandchildren; his siblings, Audrey (Bill) Hilsmier James (Martha) Herold, Tom (Christina) Herold, Jack Herold, Irma Jean Justice, Marge (Ted) Hershner, and Geri Meyer.

Besides his wife he was also preceded in death by his parents; fiancée, Merry Jane Taylor; and a great-grandson, Joshua Dale Brown.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00am Saturday, August 6, 2011, in the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1285 Main Street Hamilton, Ohio.
