KORNAU, Robert J., age 87 of Hamilton died Saturday, April 24, 2010 at his home. He was born in Cincinnati on January 28, 1923, the son of Paul O. and Hildagarde (Forschner) Kornau, and was a United States Navy veteran, serving during WWII. On June 25, 1949, he married Rita C. Meyer. Robert worked for Fisher Body Hamilton Plant for thirty-eight years, retiring in 1984. He was a member of St. Peter Church and the Knights of Columbus Father Butler Council.

Survivors include his wife Rita; six children, Eric Kornau, Jonathan (Anne) Kornau, Jeanie (Barry) Lake, Catherine Rodeffer, Matthew (Marcia) Kornau, Joseph (Tracey) Kornau; fifteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two sisters, Joan (Vernon) Corbin and Miriam Seigel.

Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Paul Kornau.

Prayers will be offered at 9:30am Wednesday in the Zettler Funeral Home 2646 Pleasant Ave, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am Wednesday in St. Peter Church, with Fr. Timothy Bunch celebrant. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery . Visitation will be from 6-8:00pm Tuesday in the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to Hospice of Cincinnati, 4310 Cooper Rd.
