MALONEY, Robert E. age 93 of Hamilton, Ohio and Bradenton, Florida died Tuesday, September 13, 2011, at Fort Hamilton Hospital. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on July 2, 1918, the son of James E. and Mary (Konnersman) Maloney. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served on Guadalcanal with the Americal Division U.S. Army Field Artillery during WWII. Mr. Maloney served as the General Manager of Consolidated Food Services, which operated Eaton Manor, Manor Catering, Madeira Manor, and Iron Horse Inn. He was past president of the International Food Service Guild. Robert was a member of St. Peter in Chains Church, life member of the Elks, and a fourth degree Knight of Columbus.
Survivors include his four children, Carole (Martin) Mick, Patricia (Michael) Abner, Karen (Kim) McKnight, and R. Kevin (Susan) Maloney; seventeen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two sons-in-law, Jack Collins and Robert Mayer; a daughter-in law, Linda Maloney.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Vera (Sunderhaus) Maloney; four children, Madeline Collins, Maureen Mayer, Michael Maloney, and James Maloney in infancy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00 am Saturday at St. Peter in Chains Church 382 Liberty Ave. Hamilton, Ohio with Father Ron Haft celebrant. Entombment to follow at St. Stephen Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 9-10:00 am Saturday at the Church. Memorial donations are suggested to the Maloney Scholarship Fund at Stephen T.
