PFIRRMAN, Robert M., age 79, of Hamilton, died Sunday, Sept. 17, 2006 at his home. He was born in Hamilton, Ohio on December 28, 1926, the son of Louis and Marie (Zettler) Pfirrman. On June 25, 1949, in St. Cecilia Church, Oakley, OH, he married Mary E. "Betty" Holscher and she preceded him in death on May 6, 1999. He proudly served in the Merchant Marines, during WWII, in the Pacific. Mr. Pfirrman had worked as a pipe fitter out of the local #108 of Hamilton, and Local #392 of Cincinnati, for nearly twenty years. He was proprietor of Chemi-John Rentals, from 1961-1977. After his father's death, he operated Lou's Place, along with his family, from 1968-1977. A proud Democrat, Bob served on the Butler County Board of Elections, from 1968-1976. A member of St. Joseph Church, he also was a member of the Sterling Silvers, the K of C Father Butler Council, and had volunteered as a woodworking shop teacher, at St. Joseph School.

Survivors include his loving companion, Diane Serger; six children, Janet (Ed) Steele, of Cincinnati, Robert (Kathy) Pfirrman II, of Hamilton, Steven (Monica) Pfirrman, St. Clair TWP, Sue (John) Eib, of Arcanum, OH, Judy Olgiate and fiancé Ken Peterman, , of Kettering, and Michael (Carol) Pfirrman, of Mason; twenty-one grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two sisters, Elaine Bowden, and Peggy (Howard) Hetterich; special sister-in-law, Joan Kurth; close nieces, Mary Lee Johns, Nancy Pfirrman-Peters, Marcia Frazier, and Marty Strite; numerous other nieces and nephews.

Besides his wife, he was also preceded in death by a grandson, David Steele; and a brother, George "Pete" Pfirrman.

Prayers will be offered ay 9:30AM Friday in the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave., followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM Friday in St. Joseph Church, with Rev. Dennis Dettenwanger officiating. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8:00PM Thursday in the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph School or Church.
