SIMMONS, Robert L. age 89 of Hamilton passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2016, at his home. He was born in Hamilton, Ohio on October 3, 1927, the son of Roy and Jessie (Sroufe) Simmons. On March 3, 1948, in Hamilton he married Mildred Beaver. Robert worked for Fisher Body Hamilton Plant for 38 years retiring in 1986. He was an active member of Bridge Water Church. Mr. Simmons was an avid golfer, fisherman, and hunter. He also had been chief of umpires for Lindenwald Baseball.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred; three sons, Steven, Dennis (Brenda), and Gregory (Lolita) Simmons; four grandchildren, Phillip (Beth Ann) Simmons, Lisa (Bo) Rogers, Bryan (Tracy) Simmons, and Jeremy Simmons; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Don (Lenore) Simmons; a sister, Irma Hammons.

He was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth A. Simmons in 1990; ten brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Monday in the Bridge Water Church 3100 Princeton Rd. Hamilton, Ohio 45011 followed by burial in Greenwood Cemetery.
