WOODS, Robert B., age 83 of Hamilton, Ohio and Port Charlotte, Florida, died Monday, December 25, 2006 in Ft. Hamilton Hospital. He was born in Goose Rock, Kentucky on January 10, 1923, the son of Robert and Ethel (Asher) Woods. On December 8, 1945, in Elkton, Maryland, he married Doris Jane Spencer and served in the US Army during WWII. Mr. Woods had worked as a machinist at the Fisher Body Hamilton Plant from 1948-1962. He was a Rep and later Assistant Director for the United Auto Workers Union, Region II A, from 1962-1990. An active member in the Democratic party, he also was member of The United Way, General Motors Sunseekers, U.A.W. retirees in Ft. Meyers and Local # 233 retirees.
Survivors include his wife, Doris; two daughters, Sharon L. (Samuel) Munafo, of West Chester, and Robin D. (John) Sutter, of Hamilton; four grandchildren, Samuel V. (Megan) Munafo, Stephen Munafo, Sarah J. and Alexander J. Sutter; two brothers, Robert A. (Myrtle) Woods, and Robert C. (Neeva) Woods; two sisters, Virginia Brown Starr, and Loretta Franklin.
Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Sarah Woods.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Friday in the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave., followed by Entombment in Rose Hill Mausoleum.
