PETERSEN, Romilda A. age 91 of Fairfield passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2015, at Berkeley Square Retirement Community. She was born in Hamilton, Ohio on October 29, 1923, the daughter of Robert and Helen (Gardner) Braun. On November 25, 1950, she married John C. Petersen and he preceded her in death on February 27, 2010. Mrs. Petersen was a school teacher in the Hamilton City Schools where she taught hard of hearing and deaf students. She later taught at Fairfield City Schools, retiring in 1985. Romilda enjoyed square and round dancing with the Hayloft Square Dancing Club. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, playing bridge and other card games with friends. In recent years, her greatest joy was time spent with family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include four daughters, Debby (Gary) Fox, of Fairfield, Patricia Bown, of Hamilton, Pamela Petersen, of Cincinnati, Tari (Jim) Thomas, of Fairfield; a son, Kevin (Debbie Howe) Petersen, of Fairfield; like a daughter, Barbara Herrick, of Cincinnati nine grandchildren, Heather (Bob) Kellum, Steven (Anne) Fox, Joshua (Kimberly) Petersen, Rachael (Mark) Grile, Brent (Kelly) Fox, Courtney (Andy) McClung, Danielle Thomas, Matthew Thomas, Jared (Hayley Littlejohn) Howe; twelve great grandchildren, Lilly and Elijah Kellum, Caitlyn, Dylan, and Dalton Fox, Izaak Wagers, Tyler Delano, Kylie Roark, Gavin and Abigail Grile, Quinn and Keira Petersen; a sister, Helen (Dean) Seizert; many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, John, she was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Katelyn Marie Thomas.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Friday in the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave. followed by burial in St. Stephen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7:00pm Thursday in the funeral home.
