Ronald Lee Schermer, age 87 of Hamilton, Ohio, passed away Sunday, February 1, 2026. He was born in Parma, Ohio on March 31, 1938, the son of Leo and Florence (Uecker) Schermer. Ronald was a retired salesman, having worked for the retail company Sears for many years. He was an active community member, involved in organizations such as St. Ann Church where he was an usher and Eucharistic Minister, the Monkey Mutual Aid Society, the American Legion, and the Knights of Columbus Father Butler Council, and St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. Ann Church. In retirement, he worked several occupations, but most of all loved driving his passengers for UTS.

Ronald married his wife Barbara C. Suppe on March 25, 1978, in Cincinnati, Ohio and she preceded him in death on May 22, 2024.

Survivors include his three sons; Chris (Amber) Schermer, Matt (Erika) Schermer, and Patrick (Tiffany) Schermer, and eight grandchildren; Brady, Cora, Dax, Taylor, Avery, Taylor, Braelynne, and Mia.

Besides his wife and his parents, he was also preceded in death by two sisters, Donna Thomas and Brenda Randolph.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday February 10th, 2026, 5:00-7:00pm at Zettler Funeral Home 2646 Pleasant Ave. On Wednesday, February 11th, a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am at St. Ann Church, 3000 Pleasant Ave. Hamilton, OH 45015.  Private committal and veteran's services will be held at St. Mary Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society/Blood Cancer United.
