SUEDKAMP, Ronald John age 73 of Alexandria, Louisiana passed away on September 17, 2018 in Rapides Regional Medical Center. He was born in Hamilton, Ohio on March 17, 1945, the son of Richard and Lorraine Pater Suedkamp.  He attended Brunnerdale Seminary and finished school at Hamilton Catholic High.  After graduation, Ron received his draft notice and joined the U.S. Navy, becoming the first of four brothers to join the military.  His first assignment was aboard the USS Dahlgren, at the conclusion of the Cuban Missile Crisis, patrolling off the coast of Cuba.  Later he deployed to the South Pacific aboard the destroyer, USS Robinson.  He served two tours in Vietnam receiving a Bronze Star. After a tour at White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico, he left the Navy. He then attended San Diego Community College receiving an Associates Degree in Electronics. In 1976, Ron moved to Louisiana where he met his wife of 35 years, Sherry Elmer Suedkamp.

He leaves his wife, Sherry; three daughters, Heather (Scott) Leedom of Louisiana, Lindsey (Daniel) Guidry of North Carolina, Bethany (Casey) Severin of Washington;

one son, Nicholas Suedkamp of Louisiana; four grandchildren, Brittany and Brendon Leedom; David and Ruth Guidry; three brothers, William (Sharon) of Colorado,

Michael (Carsey) of Ohio, and Dennis (Leslie) of California; a sister, Mariann (Greg) Savage of Ohio; a sister-in-law, Linda Suedkamp of Wisconsin; a brother-in-law, John Elmer of Texas; many nieces and nephews.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Rosemary Wessel Suedkamp; a brother, Richard Suedkamp.
