LEDFORD, Ronnie P. age 62 of Trenton, Ohio died Thursday, October 29, 2009 at Mercy Hospital of Fairfield. He was born in Barboursville, Kentucky on November 16, 1946, the son of Ballard and Bonnie (Smith) Ledford, and he was a 1965 graduate of Garfield High School. Ronnie served in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. On May 22, 1970 in the Lindenwald United Methodist Church he married Cindy Thomas. Mr. Ledford worked as a police officer for the city of Hamilton, for twenty-five years, retiring in 1994. He currently was employed as a paraprofessional at Hamilton High School. Ronnie was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He attended Cross Roads Church in Cincinnati, Ohio, was a member of the F.O.P lodge # 38, past president and charter member of F.O.E. in Fairfield # 3680, and a member of the Middletown Moose. He was an avid softball player, playing on many championship teams, and he enjoyed watching all sports.

Survivors include his wife Cindy; two children, Amy (David) Myers of Fairfield, Geoff (Annie) Ledford of Cincinnati; four grandchildren, Brad and Kelsey Myers, Zachary and Caleb Ledford; mother-in-law, Jean Thomas of Fairfield; ten brothers and sisters, Bill (Angie) Ledford, Linda (Bo) Hibbard, Carol (Mike) Fowler, Gary Ledford, Wanda (Rick) Creech, Debbie (Rick) Maher, James (Debbie) Ledford, Mike (Becky) Ledford, Becky (Robert) Reed, and Chris Ledford; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Besides his parents, Ronnie was also preceded in death by a brother, John Ledford.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday in the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave. Hamilton, Ohio 45015, with Pastor Steve Mercer officiating followed by burial in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be from 5-8:00 pm Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the March of Dimes 10806 Kenwood Rd. Blue Ash, OH.
