CRONIN
Ruth Z. Hartman McQuaide Cronin, 93, died at Jewish Hospital on Sunday, Sept 15. She was born July 15, 1920, beloved daughter of the late Alphonse and Amelia (Sohm) Zumwalde. Loving mother of Frederick (Patricia) Hartman (Cincinnati,OH), Gary (Vickie) Hartman (Dayton, OH), Deborah (Cusher) Wooten (Summerville, SC), David (Nancy) Hartman (Cincinnati, OH), Greg (MaryLou) Hartman (Fairfield Twp, OH), and Denise (Nick) Brockman (Katy, TX); Loving Grandmother (Mimi) of 18; Christopher (Jill) Hartman, Michael Hartman, Daniel Hartman, Nicholas (Nicole) Hartman, Angela (Ethan) Davis, Gary D (Eve) Hartman, Stephanie (Jason) Davey, Elliot Cusher, Elizabeth Hartman, Catherine Hartman, Maria (Bill) Balfour, Todd (Susan) Hartman, Kevin (Monica) Hartman, Philip (Christie) Hartman, Matthew (Amy) Hartman, Colene Brockman, Nicholas Brockman and Rebecca Brockman and great-grandmother of 26; devoted sister of Ralph (Mary) Zumwalde, Rosemary Cazel, and sister-in-law Juanita Zumwalde; step mother of John, Jim (Rose), and Rick (Debbie) Cronin, and Mary Beth Sands. She was preceded in death by Anthony J. Hartman, John McQuaide and Jack Cronin; and by her brother, Richard Zumwalde and brother-in-law, Donald Cazel.
She was a member of St. Clare Chapel and a Volunteer for 20 years at Mercy Franciscan Terrace. Ruth loved visiting with family, playing cards ("Hand & Foot") with the sisters at St. Clare and playing Bridge with family members. She loved helping others and had a very giving spirit. She was especially fond of her two "granddogs" Rascal and Spike!
Visitation will be held at St. Clare Chapel, 60 Compton Rd (Cincinnati, OH 45215) Friday, Sept 20, from 9:30-11AM followed by Mass of Christian Burial at St. Clare Chapel at 11AM. Burial will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Memorial donations may be sent to the Sisters at St. Clare Convent on Compton Rd. Online register book is available at www.zettlerfuneralhome.com.
