GLASMEIER, Ruth M. age 82 of Fairfield died Sunday, January 25, 2009 in Mercy Hospital of Fairfield. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on November 6, 1926, the daughter of Frank and Marie (Trenkamp) Rieman and was a 1948 graduate of Edgecliff College. On October 14, 1950 in St. Margaret Church of North College Hill, she married Carl G. Glasmeier. Mrs. Glasmeier was an elementary school teacher at St. Margaret Mary School from 1948-1950 and later was a swim instructor for YMCA of Fairfield for twenty-five years, retiring in 2002. She was a charter member of Sacred Heart Church, where she taught religious education, was a member of the Rosary Society, and the religious study group. Mrs. Glasmeier was an avid Xavier basketball fan.

Survivors include her husband, Carl; five children, Steve (Vicki) Glasmeier; Jane Tobergte; Jim (Anita) Glasmeier; Mary (Dave) Mainwaring; John (Karen) Glasmeier, all of Fairfield; eleven grandchildren, Beth, Susan, Megan, Sarah, Jon, Lauren, Kirsten, Sam. Emma, Carly, and Rachael; three great-grandchildren, Andrew, Sophie, and Blake; a brother, Bob Rieman.

She was preceded by her parents, and a brother, Frank Rieman.

Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Thursday, at 10:00am in Sacred Heart Church, with Fr. Larry Tharp celebrant, followed by burial in St. Stephen Cemetery.
