Van Lieu, Ruth M. age 91 of Hamilton died Monday, October 24, 2011, at Liberty Nursing Center in Oxford, Ohio. She was born in Millville, Ohio on May 12, 1920, the daughter of John and Anna (Huffman) Witte, and was a 1938 graduate of Hanover Township High School. Ruth had been a long time member of the First St. John United Church of Christ, and the Woman's Guild of the church.

Survivors include her son, Scott (Carla) Caldwell; two step-sons, Jerry Caldwell and Jim (Mary) Van Lieu; a step-daughter, Sandra (John) Stumpf; eleven grandchildren; two sisters, Louise Meyers and Reba Winkler.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Merle Caldwell in 1980; four brothers, Clarence, Carl, Bill, and Bob Witte; two sisters, Amy Stoneburner and Esther Schwab.; a step-daughter, Janice Gallagher

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday in the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave. with Pastor Kim Katterheinrich officiating, followed by burial in Brookside Cemetery West Chester, Ohio.
