Obituary

VOGT, Ruth A. age 87 of Fairfield died Saturday August 14, 2010 at the Alterra Sterling House of Fairfield. She was born on December 29, 1922 in St. Bernard Ohio the daughter of Aloyious and Eleanor (Kemme) Hampel and was a 1941 graduate of Middletown High School. Mrs. Vogt served in the US Navy during WW II. On March 2, 1946 in St. John Church Middletown, Ohio, she married Ferd J. Vogt Jr. and he preceded her in death on May 25, 2006. She had been a longtime member of St. Ann Church and the Altar Rosary Society. Ruth had been an active participant in the Hamilton Senior Citizen Golf League, and she also was a member of the VFW #1069 Ladies Auxilary, and the WAVES National.

Survivors include four children; Barbara (John) Fiedler, Pamela (Mike) Pratt, all of Cincinnati, Joseph (Carol) Vogt, of Fairfield, and Janice (Bill) Brown, of Cincinnati; eleven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two sisters, Eileen Toerner, of Hamilton, and Mary Imfeld, of Middletown.

Besides her husband, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Bud Hampel; three sisters, Sister Mary Ellen Hampel O.S.F., Rita Peters, and Lois Hampel.

The family wishes to express their special thanks to Cindy Sommer and Alterra Sterling House for the excellent care they provided.

Friends are invited to attend Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am Wednesday in the Sacred Heart Church, 400 Nilles Rd. Fairfield, Ohio followed by entombment in St. Stephen Mausoleum. The family will have private visitation. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Sacred Heart St. Vincent DePaul Society or Hospice of Cincinnati.
