Obituary

ISGRO, Samuel F. age 90 of Hamilton, died Saturday, November 8, 2008 at his residence. He was born in Hamilton, Ohio on September 13, 1918 the son of Carmelo and Mary (Saia) Isgro and was a 1937 graduate of Hamilton Catholic High School. Mr. Isgro served in the US Army during WWII receiving the Purple Heart. On February 16, 1946 in St. Stephen Church he married Helen Leugers and she preceded him in death on March 19, 1981. He was employed as head produce clerk for Kroger Co., for thirty-seven years and after retirement he worked as a produce clerk at Jungle Jim's Market from 1987-1999. A member of St. Peter Church he also was a life time member of the Italian American Society and a member of the Local UFCW # 1099 retirees club.

Survivors include five sons, David, Daniel, Samuel (Dawana), Steve (Judith), and Timothy (Anita) Isgro; four grandchildren, Jeffrey (Angie) Isgro, Megan (Lee) Byers, Todd Isgro, and Jennifer (Andy) Robben; four great grandchild, Jacob and Brady Isgro, Clayton and Trey Byers; a brother, Russell Isgro; a sister, Carmella "Mollie" Minelli; extended family, Jean Bruewer; Terri Zucconi, Tim and Becky Bruewer, Jamie and Mary Beth Craven; and their families, Justin and Anna Zucconi, Carrie (Brent) Gerlach, Scott and Christpher Bruewer, Rachel Craven and Jamie Craven III.

Besides his wife, he was also preceded in death by five brothers, Felix, Frank, Angelo, Santino and Jack Isgro; and a sister, Rosella Isgro, at birth.

Prayers will be offered at 9:30am Thursday in the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am Thursday in St. Peter Church. Entombment will be in St. Stephen Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 5:00pm- 9:00pm Wednesday in the funeral home.
