Krafft, Sharon B., 60, of Hamilton, died Friday, March 13, 2009, at Hospice of Hamilton. She was born in Columbus, Ohio, on June 30, 1948, the daughter of Keith W. and Ruth (Roe) Beighey. Sharon received a BSEd in 1970 and an MSEd in 1971 from Miami University. On December 18, 1971, in Columbus, Ohio, she married John M. Krafft, of Springfield, OH. She taught English at Lakota High School from 1971 to 1973, at New York Institute of Technology in the 1980s, and at Miami University-Hamilton from 1990 to 1995, and was the Director of MUH's Office of Learning Assistance from 1996 to 2001. Sharon was an avid reader and needleworker.
Survivors include her husband, John; a sister, Barbara (Russell) Hart, of Hanover Park, IL; one brother-in-law, William F. (Jane) Krafft, of Springfield, OH; four sisters-in-law: Kaye (Toni) Sprenzel, of Germany; Sara Mintz, of England; Melissa Zunis and Gretchen Krafft, both of Springfield, OH; and several nieces and nephews.
A remembrance gathering for family and friends will take place at 6:30 pm, Friday, March 27, 2009, at Symmes Tavern on the Green in Fairfield, OH.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice of Hamilton, to The Cancer Care Department of Mercy Fairfield Hospital, or to The Scratching Post cat shelter and adoption center (6948 Plainfield Road, Cincinnati, OH 45236) would be greatly appreciated.
