CORNETT, Shirley M. age 90 of Hamilton died Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at Hospice of Hamilton. She was born in Hamilton on May 13, 1919, the daughter of Herman L. and Lucy B. (Middleton) List. She attended Hamilton and Fairfield schools. On May 15, 1937, in Liberty, Indiana she married David W. Laney and he preceded her in death on September 19, 1958. On February 29, 1968, in Frankfort, Kentucky she married Orville Cornett and he preceded her in death on October 30, 1980. Shirley had served for many years as President of Petty Plaza and Henry Long Tower.

Survivors include her five daughters, Patricia Mobley, Phyllis Brown, Judy (Raymond) Sturgill, Nancy Carr, Sherri (Keith) Withrow, all of Hamilton; sixteen grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren; fourteen great-great grandchildren; two nephews and many friends.

Besides her two husbands, she is also preceded in death by a brother who died in infancy and a sister, Isabelle Beachler.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday in the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave with Pastor Randy Moore officiating, followed by burial in Greenwood Cemetery.
