Obituary

NICHTING, Shirley Landrum, age 90 of Hamilton died Sunday, November 9, 2008 in Berkeley Square Retirement Community. She was born in Hamilton, Ohio on November 21, 1917 the daughter of Aaron H. and Esther (Thumb) Landrum and was a 1935 Graduate of Hamilton High School. On June 28, 1941 in Hamilton, she married Raymond H. Nichting and he preceded her in death on March 29, 1992. Along with her husband Ray, Mrs. Nichting was owner and operator of R.H. Nichting Dry Cleaning and Repair, for forty years, retiring in 1977. She was member of the Park Ave. United Methodist Church. In prior years she had volunteered at Ft. Hamilton Hospital and more recently was a member of the Resident's Council at Berkeley Square.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Dr. Ted and Ann Nichting, of Jackson, Ohio; two grandchildren, Jennifer (Randy) Williams, and Stephen (Gretchen) Nichting; six great grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Reagan Williams, Madison, Allison, Colby, and Christopher Nichting.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Friday in the Park Ave. United Methodist church, 801 Park Ave. with Pastor Barbara A. Dafler officiating, followed by burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7:00pm Thursday in the Proeschel-Crawford-Zettler Funeral home, 547 Main St., and from 10-11:00am Friday in the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Park Ave. United Methodist Church. Online register book available at www.zettlerfuneralhome.com
