VAUGHN, Stephen D. age 68 of Hamilton passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2017, at Fort Hamilton Hospital. He was born on September 23, 1948, the son of Henry and Helen (Jenkins) Vaughn and was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp having served during the Vietnam War. On October 16, 1971, in St. Ann Church he married Mary J. Schneider. Mr. Vaughn was a retired employee of AK Steel/Prefinish Metals Inc. He was currently employed for the City of Hamilton Fleet Maintenance. Steve was a member of the Monkey Mutual Aid Society, the VFW Post # 1069, and the Loom # 36.

Survivors include his wife, Mary; three children, Chris (Maggie) Vaughn, Jody Rose, and Michelle (Joe) Cepluch; six grandchildren, Blake and Kyle Vaughn, Tyler and Josh Rose, Olivia and Victoria Cepluch; a brother, Donnie Vaughn; a very special nephew, Duane Vaughn; extended brothers and sisters, Dave, Doug, Dean, and Dennis Schneider, Ann Pottenger, and Janice Hingsbergen.

He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Ralph Evans; father and mother-in-law, Fred and Nettie Schneider; brother-in-law, Tom Pottenger.

Prayers will be offered at 9:30AM Friday in the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave., followed by Funeral Mass at 10:00AM Friday in St. Ann Church. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.
