Tanya Sue
Vance
October 14, 1956 – September 7, 2022
Tanya Sue Asher Vance, 65, Hamilton, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at UC Medical Center, West Chester, Ohio. She was born October 14, 1956, in Hamilton ,Ohio to Roland and Catherine (Reidinger) Asher. Tanya was the youngest of five children. She attended Fairfield schools and graduated in 1975. Tanya is survived by her brother, Dennis Asher (Linda) of Fairfield, Ohio and sister, Cathy Asher Landram (Steve) of St. Cloud, Florida; sister-in-law, Janet Asher.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Vance of Hamilton; her parents; a brother, Ronnie Asher of Indianapolis , Indiana; her sister, Joan Asher Harbin; brother- in -law, William (Bill) Harbin , formerly of Fairfield, Ohio.
Tanya was an outstanding athlete at Fairfield High School , actively participating in basketball and softball throughout school. As an adult she was on a traveling softball team that won numerous championships. For a short time after graduation she worked at several fitness centers in the Fairfield area. Her interest in helping others finally landed her in a job that turned into a career for her. She worked at Takoda Trails nursing home and was involved with patients of varying disabilities. She seemed to have a way with truly helping people that needed an extra hand to take pride in what they could accomplish. But her real love and passion for life was animals. I am sure she wanted to be remembered as an advocate for all animals. She donated all her extra time and money to animals in need, rehoming them, getting them needed medical care, and anything else that was necessary. She volunteered for many years with Fairfield Animal control. She even took her beloved dog, Precious Pearl Vance, to work with her every day. Precious was very well known by her patients at Takoda Trails. Our family would like to thank all her friends that have sent out such kind messages about her and her undying commitment to being an advocate for animals. If God has a need for people to look after the animals that go over the "Rainbow Bridge", I am sure she is already there. Rest in Peace baby sister.
The family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00pm Saturday September 24, 2022 at the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave. followed by a memorial service at 7:00pm.
