SAURBER, Thomas Albert, age 70, of Hamilton, Ohio, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2024, at home surrounded by family. He was born at Mercy Hospital in Hamilton, Ohio on October 7, 1953, the son of Richard Sr. and Florence (Zimmerer) Saurber. He spent his elementary years at St. Ann Catholic School. He graduated from Badin High School in 1972. On May 29, 1976, Tom graduated cum laude from Xavier University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. After graduating from Xavier, he taught at Badin High School and worked at General Electric, where he retired after 32 years. During his first marriage, Tom had five children: Jessica (Kevin) Hickey, Kristin (Mike) Krause, Cheryl (Edison) Vasquez, Jaci (Patrick) Bloom, and Tommy (Molly) Saurber. Tom married Tammy Ann Saurber on March 1, 2003. With that union, Tom became a father to Samantha (Jack) Anderson, Edward (Brittany) Kehling, Sr., Alex Kehling, and Jessica (Nicholas) Noakes. Tom has twenty-two grandchildren.

He loved coaching baseball and football at Badin High School. He officiated basketball for many years. Tom was known as "coach" to family and friends.

Tom was a devoted member of St. Ann Catholic Church. As his dementia progressed and he became unable to attend, he watched church daily on television and listened to Christian music.

He is survived by his brothers and sisters: Fred (Sherry) Saurber, John Saurber, Gerry (Paula) Saurber, Jim (Cassie) Saurber, David (Vivian) Saurber, Sandy (Vince) Vilkoski, Carolyn (Bryan) Remke, Diane (Matt) Arminio, and Jennifer (Mark) Conese. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Richard Jr., Tim, Ron, and father-in-law John Hoffman,Sr.

Friends and family will be received on Monday September 16, 2024, at 10 a.m. at the entrance of St. Ann Catholic Church, 3000 Pleasant Avenue, Hamilton, OH 45015. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m., with Father Larry Tharp celebrant.
