POTTENGER, Thomas "Tom'" age 65 of Hamilton, died Monday March 9, 2009 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Cincinnati, Ohio. He was born in Hamilton, Ohio on January 8, 1944 the son of Clarence E. and Betty (Baker) Pottenger and was a 1964 Graduate of Garfield High School. On August 2, 1969, in St. Ann Church, he married Ann E. Schneider. Tom had worked in building and grounds for Avon, for thirty years, retiring in 1999. He was a member of the Monkey Mutual Aid Society, the V.F.W. #1069, and the Middletown Moose.
Survivors include his wife, Ann; his mother, Betty (Pottenger) Johnson; two sisters, Dana (William) Marting, and Dena (James) Morsch; two brothers, Richard (Judy) Pottenger, and Victor (Brenda) Johnson III; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dave (Debbie) Schneider, Mary (Steve) Vaughn, Dean (Kim) Schneider, Janice (Doug) Hingsbergen, Doug (Diane) Schneider, and Dennis (Freddie) Schneider; nieces and nephews, Bill, Tom, Cathy, Ann, Amber, Richie, Brian, Mark, Brooke, Stephen, Brad, Dee, Dan, Chris, Jodie, Michelle, Stephen, Dustin, Dana, Stephanie, Beth, Matt, Melissa, Robert, Tiffany, and Andrea; and his beloved dog, Sam.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence, and his in-laws, Fred and Antoinette (Ulm) Schneider.
The family wishes to express their thanks to Dr. Harry Davin and the staff of Ft. Hamilton Hospital for the excellent care they provided.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Friday in the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave., with Fr. Stephen Mondiek officiating, followed by burial in Rose Hill Burial Park.
