HUNT, Walter age 71, was called to his heavenly home on Thursday, November 26, 2009. Walt was born in Carthage, Tennessee on May 11, 1938 to parents Robert and Hazel (Scott) Hunt. He will be so deeply missed by his wife of 45 years, Winnie (Day) Hunt; his son, Randall Born; daughter Stephanie (Hunt) Chaney; son-in-law, Mike Chaney and four precious grandchildren, Sabrina (11), Olivia (9), Gretchen (4) and Beau (23 months).Walt touched the lives of all his family and friends and always greeted you with a contagious smile and a story to have you laughing. His passing will leave a void in the hearts of many friends and a large family including his brother, Bobby Hunt of Carthage, TN, and his family/best friends that all shared his hometown of Hamilton; brother-in-laws, Bob (Marcia) Day, Garry (Jane) Day and sister-in-laws, Jean (Emery) Muskopf, Janet Day and Debbie Day. He had many special friends that will miss him so. He treasured all his time spent with his family, especially being with his buddies, Bob, Roger, Harold and Garry. There wasn't a day that would go by that he wasn't tinkering in the garage with his buddy Jess (Wanda) Morgan, enjoying a morning cup of coffee with Jim (Vivian) Scrimizzi or reminiscing with Ralph (Judy) Justice. Walt devoted 26 years of his life to the military, retiring with a rank of E7. He had such special friends during his military career, but none he cherished more than John Burkholder or Larry Vitatoe. He had many ventures in his life, from being a Special Deputy for the Butler County Sherrif's Department to selling Slick 50 Motor Oil, we were always waiting to see what Walter was into next. He retired from General Electric as a Supervisor in 1997. He later worked part time at the Monster Wash in Hamilton, where he enjoyed talking daily with all the customers. In the last 15 years, he was constantly saying he dedicated his life to making memories, and that he did. He filled his days by taking trips with his daughter and grandchildren or helping a friend with a project. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Hazel Hunt; brother, Glenn Hunt; in-laws, Floyd and Elizabeth Day; brother-in-laws, Harold (Debbie) Day and Roger (Janet) Day.
Walt will leave broken hearts but joyous memories of the man that undoubtedly was the best husband, father, grandfather (poppy) and friend that we could have ever hoped for. He always wanted to make memories and we're blessed that he left us with enough for a lifetime.
