William R. Ike's Obituary
IKE, William R. "Bill" passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2017, at the Golden Years Retirement Resort in Spring City.
Born in Long Beach, California, he was the son of the late William Steiger and Hazel (Reider) Ike. Bill grew up and lived most of his life in Hamilton, Ohio. He was a 1966 graduate of Garfield High School in Hamilton. Bill worked in several sheltered workshops in both the Cincinnati and Chicago areas before retiring. In 2002, he moved from the Chicago area to Spring City, Tennessee where he was a former resident of the Abby Mae Hill Assisted Living. Bill was of the Protestant faith and attended the Wolf Creek Baptist Church in Spring City. He was an avid sports fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, the Cincinnati Reds, the Cleveland Browns, and the Indians; last year was his best year!
Survivors include his sister, Janet nee Ike (Doug) Kennard; two nephews, Peter and Nathan Kennard, all of whom reside in the Houston, Texas area.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00PM Friday, January 13, 2017, in Greenwood Cemetery. Zettler Funeral Home is serving the family.
